Expanded Mesh Mixed Metal Oxide Anodes (MMO Anodes), also called dimensionally stable anodes, are a type of impressed current protection anode that consists of rare earth oxide coated onto titanium substrate. MMO coating has a low consumption rate, make the metal dimensions remain constant during the working life of the anode, which provides a consistently low resistance anode. It is usually used in environments such as seawater, brackish water, fresh water, carbon backfill, and concrete.

Ruthenium oxide and iridium oxide are common electrocatalysts, with iridium oxide being preferred for its versatility in different environments. The bulk oxides, usually a mix of titanium dioxide and tantalum oxide, form an oxide film over the substrate to prevent corrosion.
